In a number of cases, necessary measures are not taken for ensuring the safety of employees in workplaces. As a result, unfortunate accidents become inevitable.

According to the statistics, last year alone, 48 people lost their lives as a result of unfortunate accidents in production. 202 people have been injured. Head of the Department of the State Labor Inspection Service Vusal Mammadov says that the machining, construction, mining industry, transport and warehouse rank this list.

The study shows that employers do not provide employees with individual safety devices. They do not even give instructions regarding the labor safety. Indeed, both employers and employees should strictly comply with rules. However, the employer is directly responsible for the control over the following of rules. Although it is impossible to insure from any unfortunate accidents, insurance is used to pay damages. Thus, if an employee receives any wounds in a workplace, insurance payments are made to them or their families.

Insurance expert Ruslan Alakbarov has clearified the issue: "For instance, if a 45-year-old worker dies, if he used to get 500 AZN and has 2 children, the payment in the amount of 45, 000 AZN will be made to his family."

This type of insurance is compulsory. Regardless of the type of property, all jobs have to insure their employees. Otherwise, individuals are fined for 500 AZN, entities for 5, 000 and heads for 1, 500 AZN.
